Are solar PV installations sold between companies?
However, we are aware that in some instances solar PV installations are sold between companies, especially when companies go out of business. This change in ownership may not be communicated to the homeowner.
Can a person own a solar PV installation?
While an individual can own the solar PV panels installed at their property, there are instances where the owner of an installation may be different from the owner of the property or site at which the installation is located.
Does fit apply to all solar PV installations?
This three-band structure only applies to Solar PV installations accredited after April 2012 and does not apply to the other technology types regardless of commissioning date. You can find the full tariff bandings in the Feed-in-Tariff (FIT): Tariff table spreadsheets available below.
How do tariff rates for solar PV installations work?
The amount of generation which is deemed to be exported is set by the Secretary of State for the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero each year in their annual determinations. Tariff rates for Solar PV installations are uniquely split into Higher, Middle and Lower bands.
Do solar PV installations need to be MCs certified?
Also, the Council of Mortgage Lenders has advised that, as a minimum to avoid the risk of a property being ineligible for a mortgage, both new and existing Solar PV installations must be MCS certified. All renewable energy products are examined by certification bodies against MCS manufacturing and testing standards.
